As promised here is the post with some of my current gears. (excluding music instruments)

Zoom R16

The R16 was my very first recording device which was purchased about 3 years. It has served me well at least for my usage.

Zoom H6

My latest purchase. I got it as I will be going to the states for a 5 months long study exchange. Will be heading over to University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. Having the H6 gives me portability and I can create recording samples on the go anywhere I want. Shall experiment more with it soon.

Shure SE846

My favorite pair of universal fit in ear monitors. Have be a fan of Shure product ever since I began my audiophile journey. It all started with a pair of Klipsch s3 with I paired with the Cowon c2. I later moved on to the Shure SE215 and was totally bought over by them. After which I got the SE535 and handed down my SE215 to my brother. Sadly I had to sell the SE535 off to fund for the SE846. 

Jerry Harvey Audio JH 16 Pro

Next my very first pair of custom in ear monitors. The JH16 pro freqphase. This are the main pair that I use for listening currently. However I still keep my SE846 as there are time where I constantly need to put on and off my earphones. Putting on and removing customs are pretty much a hassle to me. All in all these are two pairs of IEMs  that I really love. I have yet to try out their latest product the Sirens series, Roxanne. Till then I'm really happy with what I have. I know for those of you who aren't audiophiles, you're probably wondering why I need so many pairs when I only have 1 pair of ears. Well I guess its a hobby. Same reason why car collectors have so many cars but can only drive one at a time.

Astell and Kern AK120

Moving on, every pair of good earphone needs a good player to feed music into them. Which is why I got the AK120. I had the AK100 the predecessor of the AK120 but sold it to fund this purchase. Compared to the other audiophile grade players out there this in my opinion has the greatest form factor. It not only look sleek, the audio that comes out from it is simply stunning. That is if you put high quality files in to begin with. With this you will no longer be listening to MP3. Instead expect to use lossless file types such as flac, wav or maybe even apples version of flac called alac. There are many more out there. They are basically the same in terms of audio quality. Shall not get too technical here as it can get really boring for some. I use it as a bed time story for my girlfriend. However, if you're really interested let me know and I will be more that glad to share with you what I know.

Fujifilm x100

Finally, the Fujifilm x100. Judging from its looks, one would easily compare it with camera like Olympus pen or even Sony nex if you're not familiar with cameras. Unlike those mentioned this here is not a micro four third. Which means it uses a imaging sensor that is equivalent or even better than most DSLRs out there. Less those full frame ones. Been using it for 3 years now and plan to upgrade to the X pro 2 when it comes out but that also depends on the price. Lets just hope its something I can afford.

Anyway to end off shall leave you guys with a cover I recorded with the H6. It called "The man who can't be moved" by The Scripts. Sorry about fan in the background. Gets a little annoying. Did not use the stock windscreen as it kind of muffles the sound a little. Shall get a better one soon.

Introduction

Hi and a very warm welcome to my blog. I'm Dalton, a 23 year old student from the little island called Singapore. To help you better understand why I've started this blog let me share with you a little more about myself. Firstly, I'm a person who really enjoys music. I love both listening and trying to produce music.However, please do not over estimate me for I'm no expert. It is just something that I love doing. My love for music has resulted in the birth of my audiophile journey. If you're not sure what that is, it basically to create the perfect audio experience. Secondly, another hobby with I really enjoy doing during my free time would be photography. The ability to capture a moment in time is simply amazing. I've been picking up little bits of knowledge and skill over time so I guess i should be able to produce some pretty decent shots. Lastly, the final piece to the puzzle. I love travelling. Unlike the previous two, I won't really consider this a hobby as it isn't something I do really often. I would really love to travel and explore the world. Seeing all the endless wonders that the world has to offer. Hope some day I'll be able to achieve that.

So basically this blog was created with the intent of sharing my travel experience both within and out of Singapore. However, with a little twist. Rather than just sharing my experience through pictures and words, I would like to incorporate sound. By accompanying short audio clips, recorded at the scene, hopefully this brings you closer to the moment as you enjoy the photos. Well I guess this explains the site url. Combining the words travel and frequency to obtain the word travelfreq.

As this idea is still in its early stages I won't be doing any recordings anytime soon. But do stay tuned for such up coming works. Meanwhile I would like to share with you some of my gears and some of my past photography works in the next few posts. Till then take care.
